Viridios Capital Grows APAC Team as Carbon Credit Origination Heats Up

AUSTRALIA  Viridios (“Viridios” or “the Company”) is continuing its strategic expansion with the appointment of three key roles in the APAC region across origination, structuring and corporate solutions and research.

The news comes as competition in primary market origination heats up as high quality nature-based projects become increasingly difficult to secure.

“We’re seeing significant demand for carbon solutions as market participants seek to meet their net zero commitments and the world continues its push to decarbonise,” says Viridios Group Executive Chairman Eddie Listorti.

“To continue to solidify our position in the Voluntary Carbon Markets as  the demand for high quality nature-based projects exceeds supply, we’re building on our on-ground presence in the region and in the global financial and the commodity trading hubs of London and New York.”

Head of Origination (Australia)

Sarah Costello joins Viridios Capital as head of origination, Australia, as the specialist climate change investment organisation targets project developers and deploys capital into high quality carbon development projects.

The former Carbon and Natural Capital Manager at Water and Carbon Group, Sarah has a proven track record in the origination and implementation of projects across the water, waste, environmental remediation, carbon and ecological restoration industries.

Head of Structuring (APAC)

Francis Hasek joins Viridios Capital as Head of Structuring (APAC) bringing more than 20 years of experience in the finance sector, structuring and executing complex transactions across Europe, Australia, Asia and the Gulf.

Hasek was previously the manager at Qatar Investment Authority and Director Global Markets for ANZ, with a key role on the Energy and Emissions desk.

Head of Corporate Solutions & Research (APAC)

Anna Ozga joins Viridios Capital as Head of Corporate Solutions and Research with 17 years experience in corporate finance, risk management and carbon strategy implementation in the finance and metal and mining sectors in Europe and Asia.

Most recently Ozga led the establishment of the Global Carbon Desk, servicing regulatory and voluntary demand for carbon offsets for BHP Commodities  and a member of women in mining and resources (WIMAR).

“We’re thrilled that Sarah, Francis and Anna have joined our growing organisation and we believe Viridios is well-positioned with our expert team and data and analytical skills to work with carbon market participants to deliver the solutions they need,” Listorti says.

Viridios Capital’s origination and capital markets business was established in 2019 to deliver climate change investment solutions including:

  • ESG facilitation
  • carbon credit portfolio management; and
  • carbon offset project origination.
